Born in Carteret, New Jersey and raised in Fishers, Indiana, Sundeep attended Hamilton Southeastern High School before heading to Butler University, where he double majored in Biology and Political Science with a minor in Chemistry. After college, Sundeep completed his law degree at Indiana University – McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he held the title of Chief Justice of the Moot Court Society and Vice President of the Asian Law Students Association.
Sundeep has had a diverse range of experiences during his time as a law student. The summer before the start of his law school career, Sundeep participated in the Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunities (ICLEO) program through the Indiana Supreme Court, where he was immersed in first-year law school curriculum and skills courses at the Notre Dame Law School. Sundeep developed bonds with his classmates and legal professionals in the community along with Justices on the Indiana Supreme Court, like Justice Steven David, that evolved into lasting friendships and mentorship.
Sundeep continued to stay involved with the ICLEO program and went on to be an ICLEO clerk for the Hon. Paul D. Mathias of the Indiana Court of Appeals while he was in law school. While balancing law classes and extra-curricular activities, Sundeep was a legal extern for the Hon. Steven H. David of the Indiana Supreme Court and for the Hon. Grant W. Hawkins of the Marion County Superior Court. Through these judicial externships and experiences, Sundeep gained invaluable knowledge that he has used throughout his law school career and further into his legal career.
Sundeep also got experience in prosecution as he was a certified legal intern for the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office during his last year of law school. At the prosecutor’s office, Sundeep handled guilty plea hearings in Superior Court 5, litigated bench trials and participated in jury trials.
Sundeep was an advocate and mentor through the law school Re-Entry and Community Help Program. Sundeep reported monthly to the District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and assisted local, newly released federal offenders in their journey of integrating back into society. Sundeep firmly believes that everyone deserves a second chance and has been involved with community efforts to reduce recidivism.
Sundeep currently lives in Fishers, Indiana and enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, traveling, and reading.
